Can I play for the High School team and play for the Mystics? Yes, high school practices and games take precedence over the tournament team.
Can I play on a Recreational team and play for the Mystics. Yes, team members that are still at the youth level are encouraged to represent their local Rec teams. However, if you participate at the high school level and you make your high school team it is recommended that you do not continue to participate at the Rec level.
How many tournaments does the Mystics participate in a season? 5 to 6 tournaments.
When is the first Tournament? The first tournament will be no earlier than Mid April for 12U team and no earlier than Mid May for the 14U and 16U teams. Tournaments participation will be based on the team development.
When is the last tournament:? The last tournament will take place no later than the first week of August.
How far do you travel? Most tournaments are within 90 Miles; tournament/s outside of the 90 mile radius will be based on team/coaches/parents approval.
Will all team members play equal time? No, playing time is earned and will be based on attitude, skill and hustle. However, during pool play on Saturday each girl that shows desire, initiative, comes to practice will be given an opportuniy to start a game during pool play.
Are there tryouts: "Yes"; Mystics will host tryouts in August and September for the 2011 season. Prospective team members will be evaluated and invited to participate at the recommendation of the coaching staff.
Will I be required to participate in fundraisers? Yes, each team member is encouraged to participate in team fundraisers. There will be a $35.00 buyout fee implemented for each fundraiser.
What are the fundraisers? The number of fundraisers are dependent on the success of the fundraisers.
Will I be required to seek sponsors for the team. Each team member is encouraged to seek sponsors to help support your team.
